Project Specialist – Purchase to Pay

The P2P Project Specialist  Role is responsible for the execution of the procurement to pay (P2P) process within the Global Medical Affairs Team.  The scope of the P2P process at this company includes the processing of purchase orders and contracts for suppliers and Health Care Professional (HCP) related events such as meetings and advisory boards.  This team also completes additional processes outside the traditional P2P scope to assist in expense reconciliations and compliance support.

This position will engage with stakeholders across the therapeutic areas to assist them with the P2P components of their projects.  The position will need to develop strong relationships with multiple levels of the business within the therapeutic areas.  It will also be critical to develop relationships with support area leaders from legal, compliance, procurement, finance and operations.

This role must possess an incredible drive for exception customer service and continually strive to exceed customer expectations.


This individual will work within the Global Medical Affairs (GMA), medical operations group with the following responsibilities;

  • Work across multiple levels of the organization to ensure purchase orders and contracts are processed in a timely fashion.
  • Facilitate the cross-functional preparation and processing of non-catalog activity through the entire P2P process
  • Ensure all required documents are gathered to facilitate an efficient P2P process
  • Validate that all required data is accurately completed in documents and systems
  • Monitor P2P contract and purchase order requests to ensure items are completed within agreed to service levels.
  • Proactively resolve issues as they arise to ensure timely execution of the contracts and purchase orders through the system
  • Complete expense reconciliation and P2P transparency reporting requirements at the end of an HCP event such as an advisory board or meeting
  • Escalates issues appropriately and promptly to ensure optimum customer satisfaction
  • Regularly communicate with stakeholder to provide them status updates


  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 3+ years of related experience
  • Strong documentation skills, with a high attention to accuracy & detail
  • Skills and ability to interact at multiple levels of the organization in a multi-cultural environment
  • Proven ability to deliver an exceptional customer service experience while maintaining service levels.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment.
  • Able to manage multiple tasks and set priorities to ensure completion of daily responsibilities and assigned workload.
